Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

When it comes to Valentine’s Day bouquets, it’s generally the gesture that counts. When you love someone, it doesn’t matter if you can afford a single daisy or a half-tonne avalanche of roses – just showing them how much you care is all that matters.

However, even in the abstract game of flower giving, there are a few ground rules. Namely, your gift should be alive, brightly coloured and not covered in barbecue sauce. Remarkably, this year you can break all three guidelines in one go.

Joining the increasingly thriving edible arrangement business, barbecue specialist Boston Market has launched what might be the most delicious bunch since humanity first discovered how to peel a banana. On February 14th, for a limited time only, customers will be able to get their hands on a bouquet made from baby back ribs. Sticky fingers never felt so romantic.

Check out our recipe for Whiskey BBQ Shredded Rib Sliders:

Available at locations across the United States, the barbecued bundle will set you back $29.99 for a beautifully presented set of 12 ribs. While it might not be the most cost-effective way to source a dozen sticky pork portions, the bouquet makes a visual statement that’s hard to put a price on.

In a press release to celebrate the promotion, Chef Tony Fialho, director of culinary innovation at Boston Market, revealed:

“When we first toyed with the idea of adding Baby Back Ribs to our menu, we knew we wanted to focus on flavor and quality. That’s why we’re slow-cooking our ribs to fall-off-the-bone perfection before smothering them in Sweet Baby Ray’s famous hickory barbecue sauce.”

“We just launched Baby Back Ribs a few weeks ago and our guests are loving them! On their own, our Baby Back Ribs are sure to delight barbeque enthusiasts everywhere, but when packaged in a delectable bouquet, they’re the picture-perfect Valentine’s Day gift to help anyone delight – and feed – that special someone.”

Ribs may lack the traditional romantic appeal of chocolate or strawberries, but this is definitely one of the most delicious ways to tell someone how much you care come February 14th.
