If you’ve ever dreamed of getting paid to eat burgers all day, this might genuinely be your moment.
Fast-food chain Wendy's has announced it’s hiring someone for what might be the internet’s favourite job title: Chief Tasting Officer.
And yes, the role basically involves eating burgers and talking about them online.
The brand is offering a salary of around $100,000 (roughly £78,000) for the gig, which will see one lucky fan taste-test menu items, share their thoughts, and create social media content about the food.
According to the job listing, the role is remote, meaning the chosen candidate can mostly work from home – or, more realistically, from their sofa with a bag of fries nearby. The responsibilities include reviewing Wendy’s food, posting videos about new menu items, and potentially even appearing in brand adverts.
The qualifications are… refreshingly minimal.
The company says applicants essentially just need “a human mouth, a pulse, opinions, creativity and taste.”
In other words, if you’ve ever loudly reviewed a burger to your friends mid-bite, you’re already halfway qualified.
To apply, hopeful candidates have to submit a short video explaining why they deserve the role, ideally showing off their personality — and maybe a bit of love for the brand’s burgers, fries or Frosty desserts.
The campaign is clearly designed to get the internet talking, but it also doubles as a clever way for the company to find a new online brand ambassador.
Whoever lands the job will essentially spend the year eating Wendy’s food, sharing their reactions and helping create viral content around the menu.
Not a bad way to make a living.
Of course, the real challenge might not be eating burgers for a job — it’s deciding which one is the best.
Tough work, but someone’s got to do it.
