Wetherspoons might be best known as the only place to still get a reasonably priced pint, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t got more to offer. As part of the pub chain’s 17-day gin festival, ‘Spoons have decided to serve customers a limited edition sub-tropical spirit to help keep the summer alive, providing a bright yellow gin that tastes of pineapple and mango. The colour of radioactive urine, it’s a drink that certainly makes a statement.
The drink, which has been created by specialists Eden Mills, has been dubbed “Love Gin Mango and Pineapple Gin Liqueur” and is described as packing a “fruity punch” by the pub. According to a report in The Sun, the drink also contains “cantaloupe, papaya and peach,” and is best enjoyed with a serving of “Fentimans Valencian orange tonic water or ginger ale.”
While the mango and pineapple liqueur might be one of the most eye-catching drinks on offer, it certainly isn’t your only option. Until September 1st, Wetherspoons customers will be able to get the hands on a range of eccentric gin varieties, guaranteed to suit every palate. A total of 29 different drinks are available, including 13 that have never before been served in a ‘Spoons.
