We’ve all been there. Payday is a few days away, you’ve got $1.78 left in the bank, and the only meal you can piece together is from forgotten odds and ends found at the back of the kitchen cupboards and freezer.
Last year I found myself eating a homemade pizza – except, instead of a pizza dough base I used potato waffles. And instead of a rich marinara sauce, I used Frank’s hot sauce and ketchup. And instead of fresh mozzarella cheese, I used slices of cheese singles.
And I won’t lie – It. Was. Delicious.

That’s the thing about food; everybody has different tastes and everybody has that one guilty pleasure they would never be seen eating in front of anybody else.
Such as this woman, who has divided the opinion of Facebook users after sharing a picture of her ‘noodle sandwich’.
Check out the divisive dish below:
Posting a photo of her culinary creation to the Facebook group Feeding a family on £1 a day, the dish consisted of a plate of instant ramen, with some of the noodles placed in a folded slice of white buttered bread.
She captioned the post: “Noodle sandwich. Love it or hate it for 100% from me, yummy.”
It wasn’t long before the comments started to role in, with one Facebook user writing: “Double carbs yummy.”

Others simply posted queazy/vomiting emojis to the comments section, and another user disregarded the dish as the noodles would result in “soggy bread”.
Whereas one commenter praised the budget-friendly dish, writing: “I didn’t know I needed this in my life until now.”
However, one group member took things to a whole other level when she revealed: “It’s so lush. I always add extra water and chicken stock cube so it’s really mushy. Then add cheese.”
But I have to admit – and I’m not proud of this – I think it looks delicious…
