It might only be February, but it’s never too early to daydream about summer. If you’re sitting in a chilly office, wistfully wondering what delicious treats might be on the horizon, ready to help you relax in the heat, you can rest easy. Some of them are actually already here.
In one of the most exciting ice cream-related announcements since Ben and Jerry’s decided to jump on the vegan bandwagon, Oreo and Cadbury have decided to come together to create a line of all-new ice cream sandwiches. Combining the classic cookies with a milk chocolate coating, the product promises to tick just about every dessert box there is – on paper, at least.

According to the packaging, the frozen treats feature “Oreo ice cream sandwich(es) dunked in Cadbury chocolate”. Currently retailing for just £2 online at British supermarket ASDA, a box of four also represents great value for money, though multiple media outlets have claimed that they are not available elsewhere.

Understandably, the product’s appearance on social media has been met with a wave of excitement. A post on the popular “Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group” on Facebook has received hundreds of positive comments, including from one happy customer who declared, “These are so good bought a box today.”
Of course, observant Oreo fans will be well aware that this isn’t the first time that the cookies have made a foray into ice cream territory. Both Oreo ice cream sandwiches and tubs of Oreo ice cream are currently available in multiple outlets, though the Cadbury coating is certainly a welcome addition.
Though there is no telling how long the frozen sandwiches will be available for, the fact that they are already in stores suggests that they could be around for a while. Ice cream in the middle of winter might not sound ideal, but Oreo certainly knows how to get everyone excited for the sun.
