Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Toblerones have a certain mystique about them, don’t they?

Only ever really seen in airports, gargantuan in size, oddly shaped and often given as a cursory last minute secret Santa gift to a work colleague you don’t know very well, Toblerones are the hipster’s chocolate bar.

They are also, of course, delicious. Perhaps it’s the novelty of the thing. You can get a dairy milk every day of the week and twice on a Sunday, but you really have to make the effort to sniff out a Toblerone.

You might have mused to yourself, while chowing down on a bar, that the Toblerone isn’t exactly the most versatile of confections. It would be hard to mould a bar of Toblerone into, say, a cupcake, wouldn’t it? Well, apparently not.

But if you’re a fellow Toblerone lover wishing there were even more ways to enjoy the bar, then stop right here, because I’ve got some important news for you.

That’s right; you can now buy Toblerone lava cakes topped with a melted version of the much-loved candy bar. The @CandyHunting Instagram account was first to post about the exciting news, writing;

“New Toblerone Lava Cakes are out now!! Huge thanks to @aimras25 for the picture! She found the lava cakes at Shaw’s.”

It’s not clear if the cakes are available elsewhere.

The treat comes in a box of two as you can see above, and are described as “soft centred lava cakes, topped with melted Toblerone”. The box also advises that the cakes should be kept frozen, so presumably should be stored in the freezer.

These could be the perfect winter treat to enjoy this Christmas round a roaring fire, or as a reward for finishing wrapping the hundreds of presents you’ll doubtless be giving friends and relatives this festive season.
