Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Good news for every Gregory, Gregitty, McGregor and Greg – your namesake restaurant has presented you with the opportunity of a lifetime. If you have the affix “Greg” in any part of your name, you could be in with a chance to win a year’s worth of free Greggs, all thanks to your accidentally prescient parents.

The promotion, which comes courtesy of delivery gurus “Just Eat”, pledges to reward one lucky “Greg” with a free monthly delivery of pastry from the famous sausage roll specialists. Advertised with the help of British Olympian Greg Rutherford, the contest will run until December 10th, after which the victor will be announced. Although, in this case, the victor will obviously be a Greg, rather than an actual Victor.

Though the competition will only run in London, Glasgow and Newcastle, there is still plenty of opportunity for eager Gregorys to take part. Participating stores include Whitechapel, East Ham, and Elephant & Castle in London; St Mary’s Place, Gosforth High Street, and Byker in Newcastle; and Victoria Road and Dumbarton Road in Glasgow.

However, after you’ve gotten over the obvious geographical hurdle, entering the competition couldn’t be easier. In order to stake your claim, you’ll have to purchase something from Greggs through Just Eat for home delivery, along with proof of your Greggy denomination, from one of the participating stores.

Although you’ll have to stump up for this particular purchase, the prospect of 12 more free pastries over the course of 2020 means that it could well be an investment worth making. Given that the coming year is already set to be a fairly gloomy affair, the random arrival of vegan sausage rolls and steak bakes could be a welcome ray of sunshine. It certainly beats having to pay for the sweet relief of a flakey snack.
