Here at Twisted we love a juicy beef burger. We love burger sauce, we love the crunchy pickles, we love the chopped onion. But why not take it up a level by turning it into one of the most iconic patty melt toastie recipes to ever grace your phone?
Heat a frying pan for the bread.
Season the beef and smash into large oval patties, taking into account the fact they'll shrink.
Heat the butter on a low heat and fry one of the slices of bread on both sides. Set aside.
Heat the oil and fry the patties to your liking - we prefer them to be a bit pink.
Whisk together all the sauce ingredients.
Slather one slice of bread with the sauce, follow with some pickles and chopped onion and cheese slices. Top with a burger. Repeat, using your friend slice as the middle piece of bread, finishing with cheese.
Heat the butter and gently fry the sandwich until the cheese has melted. Finish in the oven if needs be.
