Surely this is the most decadent of all the biscuit-based deserts. Named after capitalists, smothered with chocolate with a hidden layer of velvety smooth caramel and mounted on a beautifully soft buttery biscuit base. We've topped our millionaire shortbread recipe with a sprinkle of M&Ms for a sugar-coated finish, find the recipe below.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Grease and line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, beat together the butter, flour, and sugar until combined. Then fold through the M&M’S Chocolate. Press this into the base of the tin. Prick with a fork and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown
Meanwhile, in a pot add the butter, brown sugar, condensed milk, vanilla, and salt over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Bring the heat up to medium-high and bring to a boil for about 5-10 minutes again continuously stirring. The mixture should thicken quite well.
Pour this caramel mixture over the shortbread and cool completely to set.
Spread the melted chocolate over the set caramel and garnish with M&M’S Chocolate. Let set.
Slice into bars and enjoy.
