McDonald’s Monopoly prizes revealed including £100,000 cash

McDonald’s Monopoly prizes are always pretty cracking, but this year the chain has promised they’re gonna be bigger than ever before.

Yup, the 2023 competition is back, and as always there are loads of opportunities to win free food, money and loads of other bits and bobs.

The fast food chain previously announced the competition would be returning on September 6th, and the public would be in with another chance of winning big.

And this isn’t like the lottery, the chances of winning are very real. In fact, 165 McDonald’s Monopoly prizes were won every minute last year.

What is McDonald’s Monopoly and how do you play?

In case you aren’t familiar with McDonald’s Monopoly (where have you been?!), it started back in 2005, and works a lot like the actual game.

Customers are invited to collect custom game pieces which can be peeled off on menu items like chips, wraps, McFlurry’s and drinks.

These game pieces give people the chance to bag an instant win, which usually means free food. Plus, they can collect rare pieces of the same colour (designed like streets you’d see on an actual board) to bag a bigger prize – think tech, holidays and big wads of cash.

Not only can you play IRL, but customers can also collect the same coloured property pieces via the McDonald’s App and online. This  ‘double peel’ function means everyone essentially gets two chances to win.

How do you find out you’ve won McDonalds’ Monopoly 2023 prizes?

You find out you’ve won a McDonald’s Monopoly 2023 prize by checking the packaging of the meal you’ve ordered.

There are instant win prizes and also collect-to-win prizes. The former mean you can instantly bag a prize simply by peeling the label on your food or drink item, whilst some prizes need you to collect a set of stickers (like you would properties on the Monopoly board).

As of last year, you can also play a ‘digital peel’ for free using the McDonald’s app, which involves scanning your property labels. Doing this means you get another chance to win. Winner.

As is the case when you play Monopoly, the streets near the front of the Monopoly board (pink, pale blue, brown) tend to be worth the least, whilst the likes of Mayfair and Park Lane are likely to bring home big cash.

How do you redeem McDonald’s Monopoly 2023 prizes?

You can cash in Instant Win Maccies prizes by handing the token over the counter in the restaurant branch you’re in.

Plus, you can also input 12 digit prize codes or digital QR codes into the digital screens in store or on the app to claim any edible winnings.

If you’ve won one of the rarer prizes, you’ll find a website address on the winning token, and you’ll need to head there to redeem it.

After entering personal details like your email and address, you’ll then be able to pick how you wish to receive your winnings.

Playing McDonald’s Monopoly is easier than ever, as like last year, customers will be able to add all of their collectable game pieces to a digital game board via the McDonald’s App and online.

This means customers can see what they’ve accumulated in real time.
