Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

In 2016, Kylie Jenner’s ramen made her the second member of her family to break the internet. Now, the recipe has returned to take over the internet once again.

But thanks to the magical power of Google, chefs across social media are rediscovering the cunning hack for taking ramen to the next level.

To see whether it’s really as good as it’s cracked up to be, we decided to give it a try for ourselves.

Like all the best internet hacks, Kylie Jenner’s ramen is deceptively simple.

Aside from a packet of instant ramen, all you need are a few kitchen essentials. The results, however, will make you wonder why you’ve accepted substandard ramen for so long.

The key to Jenner’s technique is the dual addition of eggs and butter. Both ingredients give the broth and noodles a velvety smooth texture, to go with the flavour from the seasoning sachets.

Making the dish itself couldn’t be more straightforward. Simply boil enough water for your noodles, add them to the pan and cook.

Once the noodles are ready, add whatever ramen seasoning came with the packet, along with a knob of butter. Stir thoroughly.

Finally, whisk an egg in a bowl and add to the soupy noodles, along with a sprinkle of garlic powder. We chose to add the egg mixture as you would in a carbonara to achieve a smooth finish, but some internet cooks choose to cook it to create a scrambled effect.

Once finished to your preference, garnish with coriander and spring onion and enjoy!

It has to be said, the end result is pretty delicious.

The addition of eggs and butter make the dish feel much more luxurious than usual. While you have to be careful not to add too much of either if you can get the balance right you won’t forget it.

Overall, if you’re looking for a way to elevate your usual instant ramen, this technique is tough to beat.

By and large, the internet agrees with this assessment. Many people have tried the technique since it was first posted five years ago, and its reputation has only gone up.

However, there are still a few naysayers who claim that the dish overcomplicates what should be a simple snack. While it certainly requires slightly more effort, there’s no doubt the method delivers on flavour.

It definitely gets a thumbs up from us, so long as you can be bothered to put the effort in.
