Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Nowadays, you can buy ice cream, doughnuts and even plant-based meals for your dogs. Hell, they can practically eat as well as us humans.

But are they really man’s best friend if they’re not able to crack open a cold one with us after a long, hard day? Wait, hold on… it turns out they can join in with that, too.

That’s right, Busch has just launched a brand new beer for dogs, named Busch Light Turkey Brew.

Let us fill you in…

Busch Dog Brew

Believe it or not, the Dog Brew is actually the second doggy beer from Missouri-based company, Busch, who previously launched their OG doggy beer product, made with vegetables, herbs, spices, water, and pork broth all the way back in 2020.

The new doggo flavour has been made with bone-in turkey, sweet potato, sweet basil, peppermint leaves, turmeric, ginger, and water.

It turns out like their owners, dogs’ palates are evolving, too…

“Our fans’ reaction to Busch Dog Brew’s release in 2020 inspired us to keep the momentum going and release our newest flavour for pups to enjoy just in time for the holidays,” explained Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for Busch Family Brands at Anheuser-Busch.

Not only is the beer a fun way for your pup to join in with after work drinks, but it’s also good for them, too. The drink is described as “a nutritious and tasty snack for your four-legged friend that helps to promote a healthy digestive system.”

Where can I buy Busch Dog Brew?

When the original Dog Brew launched in 2020, it was an instant hit, and sold out in 24 hours.

However, anticipating demand, the company has made sure this year’s turkey-flavoured Busch Dog Brew is going to be easier to get hold of, with a big stock of the canine friendly tipples being sold in four-packs on Anheuser-Busch’s Shop Beer Gear website.

You’ll be able to order four 12-ounce cans of beer for $15 (£13).

Is the beer *actually* ok for dogs to drink?

Yup. The Busch Dog Brew is completely safe to drink as it doesn’t contain alcohol, hops or any of the nasties you’d find in normal beer.

The company recommend that Busch Dog Brew will last for five days after opened in the fridge so that smaller dogs can enjoy smaller servings, but add that it’s totally fine to drink a whole bottle in one go.

What’s more, humans can even drink the products safely, too.

“It’s made from bone broth, which humans consume with a lot of meals, such as soup,” Busch says on its Dog Brew FAQ page. “But Busch Dog Brew is specifically made for a dog’s refined palate.”

As tempting as this might be, we think we’ll be sticking to normal beers, thanks…

Can I get Busch Dog Brew in the UK?

Unfortunately, the Busch Dog Brew is only available in the US, so UK doggies will have to wait to get their paws on it.

The good news is, you can actually get a pretty similar product from the brand Woof and Brew, which serves a herbal beer alternative for your furry friend. Check that out on Pets at Home here.
