Marks and Spencer drops a gold-leaf sparkling wine for Christmas

The folks at Marks and Spencer have always been reliable when it comes to delivering the sparkly beverages at Christmas.

We all know about their Snow Globe Gins, for one, which have been a hit over the festive period for the last few years.

But what if we told you that wine lovers could now get in on the glitz and glam, too?

That’s because Marks and Spencer has just announced the arrival of a brand new gold leaf infused sparkling wine. What fun, ey?

Undoubtedly one of the fanciest tipples you can get your hands on this Christmas, the Marks and Sparkle Fizz is said to be “crisp and citrusy with notes of pear and melon”,  and is a blend of grape and peach liqueur.

Just to ensure you razzle dazzle your guests over the holiday period, each bottle is filled with flakes of 22 carat gold leaf.

Costing £10 a bottle, with an ABV of 13 percent, the fizz has already proved such a hit that shoppers are said to be snapping up one every 30 seconds!

You can stock up on six bottles online for £60 in the run-up to the holidays, so you’re sufficiently prepared for even the booziest house-guests.

Plus, you can order the Marks and Sparkle as part of a gift set for £40, alongside a bottle of Prosecco and some delectable salted caramel chocolates.
