McDonald's is bringing back 'best ever' burger which had petitions for its return

McDonald's is officially bringing back its 'best ever' burger, after begging and even a petition from fans.

Yup, the fast food giant is bringing back the Philly Cheese Stack, and we're very, very happy about it.

The burger features two beef patties, grilled and crispy onions, cheese sauce, two cheddar cheese slices and pickles, all stuffed into a toasted bun.

The fan favourite hit menus for the first time in October 2023, but it was only there until the end of November, and fans have been crying out for it ever since.

In a post on Twitter at the time, one person wrote: “Heartbreak is the worst. As well as the feelings of loss and mourning, there's also that incredulity and injustice.

"Why can't it last forever? Why won't they always be there? I know McDonald's will probably bring The Philly Cheese Stack back next year, but it still hurts.”

Meanwhile, others dubbed the menu item the ‘the nicest fast food burger they’ve ever tasted’ – high praise indeed.

Many also pleaded with the Maccies bosses to make it permanent.

The most dedicated fan went as far as to make a change.org petition, under the name ‘Naomi Campbell’ (we're gonna hazard a guess it wasn't her, though!).

They said said they were ‘devastated’ that the burger had been taken off menus, and over 100 people agreed, adding their signatures to the plea for the Philly Cheese Stack's return.

The burger won't be back until 4th September, but we're bloody happy to see its return, even if it's still limited edition.

It'll be making a comeback alongside the iconic Chicken Big Mac, which is also often the subject of petition and begging from UK customers, so we think they are gonna be very happy indeed.

The good news doesn't stop there, as McDonald's Monopoly is also making a return.

Both returning burgers will be part of the lineup, meaning there's even more reason to get down to Maccies and grab yourself a feast.
