McDonald's has confirmed that it is bringing the Grimace shake to the UK... but not for long!

Yup, the cult purple milkshake lands in UK branches from Wednesday 28th August, and you'll only have a week to get your hands on it, as it's off menus again after the 3rd September.

Inspired by McDonald's mascot Grimace’s iconic purple colour, the Grimace Shake will set you back £2.69, and is made from a blueberry flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base.

The shake is already a phenomenon overseas, but now you can get your hands on it here – a little present from UK Maccies to you, to mark the fast food giant's 50th birthday.

If you happen to be in east London on Monday 26th August, you can also try the Grimace Shake early by visiting Box Park Shoreditch from 12pm-6pm.

They'll be giving out Grimace Shakes to lucky punters... but once they're gone, they're gone.

As well as visiting restaurants in the UK, you can also get in on the Grimace hype through the McDonald’s app, at the Drive-Thru, or via McDelivery.

The shake first debuted in the US back in June 2023, and sucked people in with its eye-catching purple aesthetic and blueberry notes.

It's a tribute to lesser known Maccies mascot, Grimace, who is a milkshake thief, designed to look like the embodiment of the stuff he's trying to nick.

The old saying goes that Grimace is Ronald McDonald's best friend, and while he was initially branded as 'Evil Grimace' went on to become loveable and clumsy.

McDonald's mascots might be long forgotten over here, but the hype around the Grimace shake is still palpable.
