Pizza Hut in Indonesia sells pizza with a dim sum crust and we simply need to try it

Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

We thought the fast food in this country was pretty darn good, but the more we look into what’s available abroad, the more we realise we’re missing out on so much.

We told you about McDonald’s best foreign menu items – filled with the likes of carbonara fries and panko salmon burgers  – but now we’ve uncovered something potentially *more* exciting.

Did you know that in Indonesia you can visit Pizza Hut and order a pizza with a dim sum crust? We literally kid you not.

The pizza itself is topped with chicken, mozzarella, onions, mushrooms, red peppers and tartar sauce, and arrived in stores last month.

If a tartar sauce base wasn’t exciting enough, the main selling point of this pizza is the crust – or lack thereof.

You see, instead of crust, the pizza is lined with dumplings, which are filled with shrimp and fish. What a culinary ride this must be for those lucky Indonesian punters.

The pizza is for sale for 123,000 Indonesian rupiah, which is about £6.53.

And the best part is shoppers can customise it to suit their tastes. If they’d rather beef or pepperoni as a topping, they can switch that with the chicken, and those who don’t want any meat can go for a “Cheese Lovers” version instead.

Here at Twisted, you know how much we love fusion food, so we don’t have to tell you how excited most of us are about this one.

However, as is always the case with a quirky product like this, there was some scepticism, too. For one, Creative Culinary Lead, Hugh, wasn’t so sure.

Sloppy or not, even Hugh admitted he’d like to give this bad boy a try.

However, the bad news is there are currently no plans for the pizza to drop in the UK, so we’ll have to make do with some of their more bog standard toppings, like Meast Feast, Hot and Spicy Chicken and BBQ Americano, for now.

Sure, we’d munch them all, but now we’re dying for some dim sum to eat alongside ’em. Petition to bring this over to the UK, stat?
