Costco’s bakery section is always full of bangers, but their latest product release might be the best so far.
Over in the US, the wholesale retailer is now selling a lemon meringue cheesecake, and it has certainly set the internet ablaze.
The new Lemon Meringue Cheesecake is a delightful combination of two of our favourite things – a lemon curd cheesecake and the airy meringue you’d typically see on a lemon meringue pie.
Taking to TikTok, food blogger Laura, who runs @costcohotfinds, said the dessert – which weighs in at nearly 2kg – was “the best one yet” from the retailer.
@costcohotfinds I love that meringue!
The video shows her cutting a hefty slice out of the cake, with the meringue and a thick wad of lemon curd sitting beautifully on a spatula as she pulls it out.
“It’s sweet… and tart. The bakery killed it with the meringue, it was perfect.”
The Lemon Meringue Cheesecake costs £19.99 and is available at Costco stores across the US now.
Taking to the comments of @Costcohotfinds’ Instagram, people were equally enthused about the new pud.
“They are seriously killing it!!!!!,” wrote one person.
Whilst another wrote: “Omg!!! Looks off the hook!!”
“I used to work for the firm that designs all Costco’s and one of the senior associates would bring random things from Costco when he went on site visits,” a third chimed in.
“Well one year they had this cheesecake and it was AMAZING. The entire office kept requesting it again but it was discontinued. The senior associate asked the Costco bakery VP if they could bring it back and he said no. I’ve been waiting YEARS for this cheesecake!”
This isn’t the first time a Costco cake has garnered a lot of hype online.
In fact, people are still talking about their Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie, which has been another hit over in the States.
The pie is made with a buttery crust made from graham crackers, whilst the centre is a peanut butter and chocolate mousse.
Unfortunately for us Brits, the pie is only believed to be available in the States and Canada ATM.
Why must they get all the good stuff?!
