People are saying McDonald’s new burger is its best ever

McDonald’s new menu additions always cause excitement, but their latest burger might just be the most hyped of all.
Yep, alongside the return of the Chicken Big Mac in all its glory, the fast food giant announced the arrival of a rather lavish new burger last week – the Steakhouse Stack.
It may have only been on sale for a couple of days, but it would appear that the beefy new addition has been a certified hit, with Maccies fans even going as far as to brand it the best burger they’ve sold… ever.

“Had a steakhouse stack from McDonald’s the other day. It has #revolutionised my life,” said one person on Twitter after trying the new item.
Whilst another gushed: “Much like the McSpicy, the Steakhouse Stack was an incredibly nice burger. In fact, probably the nicest I’ve ever had from @McDonaldsUK. And very filling. If you have the appetite of a 10 year old.”
Another tweeted former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner – who has recently established himself as a certified food lover – telling him that it was probably ‘the best burger McDonald’s have done’.
Big claims, guys. Big claims.

In case you weren’t yet acquainted, the Steakhouse Stack burger (£5.39 or £6.99 as a meal) is made up of of two beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions and lettuce, and is topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce, all in a freshly toasted bun.
Sounds pretty dreamy, right? It’s certainly not hard to see what the fuss is about.

Twisted tries the McDonald’s Steakhouse Stack
Keen to see if it really was all people claimed, team Twisted actually managed to try the burger on launch day, and here’s what we thought…
“The burger is up there as one of the best burgers but that’s a tough title to bag,” says Lauren, a Twisted video editor and one of the team who got her hands on the menu item. “It was actually presented really nicely which you don’t always expect with a fast food burger.
“What I was most surprised at was the crispy onions were actually really crispy, I was expecting them to be soggy. Altogether as a whole the burger is great. All the components work well together, and right now its probably one of their best burgers.
“However, personally I think McDonald’s had their best burgers when they did the Great Taste of America Burgers back in 2019.”

Matt, a fellow editor who also tried the Steakhouse Stack, also thought it was a solid new offering, but in his eyes, it didn’t quite compete with one of their regular burgers.
“It was a nice and is quite a unique flavour for McDonald’s,” he said, giving special props to the peppercorn sauce. “However, I don’t think it can beat the Big Mac.
“It’s just a classic. Simple but effective.”
“My only criticism would have been that it was too onion-y,” he added. “I don’t think it. needs cripsy onions and red onion.”
Can’t please em all, ey?
Everyone’s got their own favourite Maccies burger, but our reviews prove that there’s certainly substance to the claims that the Smokehouse Stack is a banger.
