Woman ditches date after he won’t pay almost £3 for extra cheese on burger

A woman has divided the internet after revealing she ditched her date because he wouldn’t order extra cheese on his burger.
The TikTok user has gone viral online for her very particular standards, after sharing a video suggesting that she couldn’t abide by her Hinge date’s unwillingness to splash the cash.

In a clip which now has over six million views, she recalls: “So we schedule to go to dinner, we’re sitting at the restaurant and he seems very nice. Not a catfish…
“Things are going well, and the waitress comes over, she wants to take our order.”
She adds that when he ordered a burger, the waitress asked if he wanted extra cheese.
‘Is this gonna be extra?’, he’s said to have then asked.
He was then told the cheese was going to be $3 (£2.47) extra, and reportedly told them not to bother.
“I’m like what the actual fuck?,” she says in response. “I’m like ‘okay, I’m hungry I’m gonna get my branzino and see what happens’.
“And he’s like, ‘Oh my God, you have to pay extra for everything these days,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah. It’s New York City.’”
The TikToker said that it was at this point she decided she couldn’t be on the date any more, excusing herself and pretending to go to the toilet.

She then said that she headed up to the counter and paid for both their meals, leaving without saying goodbye.
“I just paid and walked out of the restaurant,” she said.
“So I texted him and said, ‘The check is taken care of, you should have gotten the cheese.’
“Then I blocked him.”
Ouch.
The TikTok has provoked a big reaction online, with many claiming that walking out of a date over extra cheese was just a little (read, a lot) extra.
“Lol, the real red flag is you. He definitely dodged the bullet,” said one.
Whilst another wrote: “I’d rather dine alone the rest of my life than [have] a single dinner with someone who judges me for not wanting to pay $3 for cheese.”

“Who would pay $3 for a slice of cheese?,” penned a third.
“Bro just dodged a meteorite…happy for him,” said somebody else.
There were some taking things a bit too far and trolling the woman in question, though.
In a second video, she told people to leave the angry comments off her page, adding that she was actually “going on a second date” with the same man because he had seen her initial video and it made him laugh.
“I’m a student, I’m an unpaid intern, my rent is half my pay check. I have a huge credit card debt. But I’m fine about it. It’s going to be okay,” she said.
One thing’s for sure… he’s certainly not going to skip the cheese this time!
