ASDA’s weird new pizza

Even if you’re strongly opposed to traditional pizza toppings, the Big Breakfast Pizza may well be a bridge too far.

Highlighted on the hugely popular newfoodsuk Instagram account, the stonebaked pie includes everything from hashbrowns to Heinz baked beans. Needless to say, neither of these regularly feature in Naples.

According to the official product description, the Big Breakfast delivers: “The breakfast of champions – with a medley of mushrooms, crispy bacon, hashbrowns, sliced sausage and the nation’s favourite Heinz Beans.”

As the enthusiastic Instagram caption puts it, “Fry up on a pizza? Why not! It’s even topped with Heinz Baked Beans! Now available at @asda for a limited time only!”

The unconventional new dish probably won’t be for everyone. However, if you’re the kind of person that likes to gamble with their dinner, this might be the dish for you.

Judging by the reaction, you probably won’t have to share much.

Fans react to the ASDA Breakfast Pizza

It’s fair to say that new Big Breakfast Pizza hasn’t had a great reception from the internet. Not only do most people seem to fundamentally object to the idea, but many are claiming that it might put them off breakfast altogether.

For instance, one Instagrammer exclaimed, “Ruined by beans for me ha.”

Another added, “This is why we have a reputation of the worlds worst food 🤮🤮.”

Judging by the dish’s appearance, it’s difficult to blame them.

However, not everyone seems totally horrified by the breakfast pizza concept. For instance, one commenter asked a friend, “@mr5_field have you picked up one of these on your trip to asda today?”

Another even went so far as to add, “I kinda wanna try this.”

It just goes to show that even if something seems seriously horrible, there may well be an appetite.
