Casual observers of ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives’ could be forgiven for wondering 'just how many restaurants does Guy Fieri own?' Without some credentials, you could question the wisdom of getting restaurant advice from someone who looks like a Crash Bandicoot villain.

He might be best known for eating his way around the country in an impressive range of loud shirts, but Guy Fieri’s business empire is actually about much more than DDD.

With restaurants across the country, Fieri is certainly successful. But, even given his international reputation, some people may still be surprised about the extent of his influence.

How many restaurants does Guy Fieri own?

At the time of writing, the enigmatic cook owns and operates an impressive 14 “Flavortown Hotspots“. Some, like the popular Chicken Guy! fried chicken brand have been franchised at different locations around the country.

The Mayor of Flavortown has certainly made the most of his Food Network fame.

In addition to his role as host of one of America’s most enduring food shows, Fieri has also opened around 60 restaurants over the course of his career.

According to a Fox Business article published in early 2020, Fieri currently runs at least 17 active restaurants. In addition to the Chicken Guy! chain, his other successful ventures include Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen and Bar, Guy Fieri’s Pizza Parlor, and Guy’s! Bar-B-Que Joint.

Whichever way you spin it, Fieri’s has certainly had some success in the industry.

What is Guy Fieri’s Net Worth?

Naturally, being one of the most recognisable faces on food TV has brought some serious financial benefits.

First rising to fame in 2006 after winning the ‘Food Network Star’ competition, he has expanded his portfolio to include restaurants, shows and everything in between.

He has also penned several best-selling cookbooks, including an accompaniment to main Diners, Drive-ins and Dives series.

Based on all of these business interests, the website Celebrity Net Worth has estimated that the 52-year-old is worth around $25 million.

However, it’s clear that Fieri has done a lot more than sitting on his wealth. In fact, the Ohioan’s fundraising abilities are legendary in food circles and he has been a key part of several charitable campaigns.

For example, in a bid to help the restaurant industry afloat during the Covid pandemic, Fieri has successfully raised around $20 million for his newly established Restaurant Employee Relief Fund.

According to the organisation’s website, the initiative has helped “more than 43,000 restaurant workers” across the country.

Fieri has also spent time cooking for firefighters in California, preparing around 2,000 meals for personnel on the ground. Similarly, in 2017 Fieri treated fire victims and first responders to a barbecue in Santa Rosa.

His charitable efforts don’t stop at cooking. At the 2012 South Beach Food and Wine festival, Fieri made headlines by officiating 101 gay weddings.

This work away from television suggests that Fieri is perhaps more intent than many on giving something back.

Did Diners, Drive-ins and Dives get cancelled?

Despite his extracurricular activities, Fieri remains best known for presenting the food travel show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Although the show has run into some understandable obstacles in 2020, it has definitely not been cancelled.

This year, both season 32 and 33 ran concurrently, with both featuring a new “Takeout” format. Instead of driving around the country in his signature red Camaro, Fieri would speak to chefs and restaurateurs remotely.

Each Takeout episode also featured meal kits which Fieri would cook and then eat at the instruction of the chef. The result has been two DDD series’ unlike any other.

While the future remains unclear for much of the industry, it seems likely that Diners, Drive-ins and Dives will outlast the pandemic. After all, given how much we all want to travel, Fieri’s signature style could be just the antidote we need.
