Whenever McDonald’s decides to up its burger game, you can guarantee that there will be fireworks. Whether they’re doubling the size of a Big Mac or convertingspaghetti bolognese into a sandwic, the Golden Arches have more than done their bit for the wide world of weird fast food. Now, they’ve done it again.

To the excitement of everyone who has ever wanted more bite from their burger, the world’s biggest fast-food franchise has today launched a seriously special upgrade. At restaurants across the UK, McDonald’s will be offering a triple patty cheeseburger, proving that the sky’s the limit when it comes to stacking sandwiches.

The announcement follows a successful trial run in Yorkshire, during which the food giant allowed the public to decide whether a triple cheeseburger would make a worthy addition to the Poundsaver menu. The results have been pretty unanimous.

Available for just £2.19, the sandwich is a bargain in every sense of the word. Offering the exact same signature combination of beef, bun, American cheese, ketchup, pickle, onions and mustard, the new upgrade promises to make a classic treat even tastier.

In a statement, McDonald’s declared

“To add a lighter bite to breakfast, the Jam Muffin will be available for 99p. The toasted muffin with jam has been on sale in Ireland for a number of years and will now be coming to the UK

“Also returning to the menu tomorrow are promotional McFlurry flavours – in both regular and mini sizes, the Cadbury Dairy Milk and Cadbury Caramel – both firm favourites among McFlurry fans.
