Ingredients

    For the cookie dough:
  • 150gplain flour
  • 80gcocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 150gbutter, nice and soft
  • 150gdark brown sugar
  • 130gcaster sugar
  • 1 large oneegg
  • 2, choppedMars Bars
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • a few pinchessea salt

Cookies are without a doubt one of humanities greatest creations. Managing to be simultaneously soft and crispy they inhabit a delicious hinterland between a biscuit and a cake. Personally, I think these are God-tier level with all the things you'd want from a cookie. Enjoy!

Method

  • Whisk together the flour, the cocoa powder, bicarb and baking powder. These are your dry ingredients, because they are dry.
  • Whisk the butter and sugars together until light and completely incorporated. Then add the egg and the vanilla essence and mix until you've got a nice dough. Add the chopped Mars Bar bits and roll it into a fun log shape. Wrap in clingfilm and pop it in the fridge for at least an hour.
  • Cut into rounds, sprinkle with flaked sea salt, place on a non-stick tray and bake for 10-12 minutes or until done to your tastes.
  • What do you think of the recipe?
