How to make McDonald’s McFlurry at home according to viral Facebook recipe

07 Jan 2021

Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Even before every restaurant on earth was severely compromised, getting hold of a McFlurry could be a tricky business.

Ask any McDonald’s fan, and they’ll tell you that the delicate constitution of the ice cream machines is easily the most irritating thing about the restaurant.

Therefore, having a way to skip out the temperamental middle man is, in any circumstances, a good idea.

Fortunately for anyone missing their favourite frozen fast food dessert, there is a way to get that glorious McFlurry flavour without leaving the house.

According to one heroic woman, it’s perfectly possible to recreate the recipe in your own kitchen, using no more than three ingredients. It makes you wonder why they bother with the machines at all.

Originally shared two years ago, Philippino woman Cha Sampan’s recipe has found a new lease of life after being unearthed by hungry self isolators.

Undoubtedly part of its appeal is its limited ingredients list, which, according to the original post, includes:

“250 ml All Purpose Cream (any brand you want, but I prefer to use Nestle Cream because of the consistency of the cream)…216ml Condense Milk (any brand you like, it’s up to you)…1 pack (3 pcs) cookies with cream filling (oreo or cream o, bahala ka po), add another 1 pack if you want (optional)”

As per the instructions provided in the accompanying photos, there are four steps to the process. As Sampan explains it:

“Mix carefully the all purpose cream and the condense milk. But before putting all the condense milk, put a half of the can then taste it. Then if the sweetness of the mixture was not enough for you, apply the other half of the condense milk.

“Put the cookies with the cream filling into a plastic or anything you can use in your kitchen then crush.

“Mix the crushed cookies to the cream mixture.

“Put in the freezer and wait for 4 to 5 hours until the mixture is set.”

If the photos are anything to go by, the resemblance is uncanny.
