KFC Double Down is back with spicy new twist and hash brown dilling

KFC has brought back its Double Down burger after five years – and this time it comes with a spicy twist.

Yup, you might be thinking a bunless burger sounds like the consequence of a depressing New Year health kick... but this one's different.

Instead of ditching the bread altogether, this one swaps it for fried chicken. Pretty epic, right?

The Zinger Double Down will cost £7.49 and promises "more spice, crunch, and flavour" than the original.

Squeezed between the Zinger fillets you'll find two hits of KFC’s supercharger mayo, two slices of melted cheese and a brand new crispy hashbrown in the middle - what an epic addition!

For £9.49, you can get the chicken-packed burger, fries and a drink. Not bad for under a tenner, ay?

The burger is available for a limited time only from 10th February to 16th March, so don't sleep on this one.

KFC shoppers will be able to grab theirs via in-restaurant dining, online orders, and click & collect, so there are plenty of opportunities to get your chicken fix.

"Fans have been calling for its return for years, and we’re beyond excited to finally bring it back with a fiery twist! We’ve made sure it’s everything they remember and more, from the legendary crispy chicken 'buns' to brand-new packaging that keeps every bite as perfect as the first.

"This is all about giving our fans the ultimate Double Down experience they’ve been craving—but they’ll need to be quick, as it’s only here for a limited time!" 

We're sure the return of the Double Down is going to go down a storm, as people on social media have given it glowing reviews in the past.

One user described it as the "holy grail of fast food," which says everything we need to know.
