McDonald's new global menu drops today featuring 8 new items

McDonald's new menu has launched today and it's featuring a whopping eight items which are brand new to the UK.

Yes, you read that right. EIGHT.

We're used to a Maccies drop with one or two new menu items alongside some old classics, but this new menu hits different. It's part of the burger chain's 'flavour heist' which brings McDonald's menu items from around the world into one epic collection.

So, what's on the menu?

McDonald's Flavour Heist

First up, we're jetting to Canada to sample the Maple BBQ & Bacon Double Quarter Pounder.

This one's made up of two juicy Quarter Pounder beef patties glazed in a Maple BBQ sauce, with the addition of bacon, cheese, crispy onions and pickles. Yum.

Then, we've got a banger from Australia – the Pineapple McSpicy. We've had the McSpicy on the menu before, but this takes the fiery chicken burger to new heights.

Everyone's heard the pineapple on pizza debate, but what about in a burger?

This one features a chicken breast in a crispy coating with the classic sandwich sauce, bacon, cheese and lettuce, served on a toasted sesame seed bun. All those spicy flavours are balanced with a slice of pineapple for good measure.

Whether you're into it or not, it's sure to spark conversation.

As far as sides go, we've got a very exciting addition from Japan. Enter the Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets. These feature your classic Maccies nugs with garlic and a kick of black pepper, and there's a Garlic & Soy Mayo dip, too.

Poland is also bringing something great to the table with their Sour Cream & Black Pepper McShaker Fries. They come with a sachet of sour cream & black pepper seasoning which you add to the bag.

And perhaps the most exciting? Mac n Cheese triangles from The United Arab Emirates (UAE). They're basically breaded triangles of macaroni pasta in a cheddar cheese sauce, served with a ketchup dip.

It obviously doesn't stop there. The global dessert and drink selection is off the charts, too.

First, you've got the Choco Caramel Pie from Indonesia – a gooey, chocolatey dessert with molten caramel and chocolate ganache in the middle.

There's also the option of a Chocolate or Caramel Pretzel McFlurry from Malaysia, and a Sakura x Sprite from Japan.

The drink is basically a "floral, fizzy refreshment with a Japanese twist. Sprite Zero meets sugar-free Sakura syrup, served over ice for a crisp, delicate drink".

For ages, we thought McDonald's global menus would be reserved for holidays, but now that changes.

All items are only here for a limited period, so if you want to try them, now is the time – they won't be around for long.

If you're going with kids, there are also Care Bare Happy Meals at the moment and the plush toys are adorbs.
