Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

McDonald’s has added a new burger to its permanent menu for the first time in 15 years – and it’s a corker.

Yup, the fast food chain might regularly add special seasonal additions to its menu, from the McSpicy to the Grande Big Mac, but now it has cemented one burger as a Maccies regular.

Please welcome the McCrispy burger.

You may have tried the McCrispy burger before, when it was introduced in a few select locations on a temporary basis, but now it’s back – and it’s back for good.

The McCrispy burger is made with a “crunchy 100 percent chicken breast fillet” which is marinated in black pepper and cayenne to give it a kick of spice.

It’s fried until crispy, garnished with salad and classic mayonnaise and served in a four inch “sweet, nutty” artisan glazed bun.

After launching a similar iteration of the chicken burger in Ireland and the Midlands, it was branded a certified hit, with many Maccies fans saying it was one of their favourite new additions yet.

McDonald’s branded this burger the Crispy McFillet, and a select bunch of McDonald’s customers were treated to it in March of this year.

Maya Jama, gamer Elz the Witch and rapper Michael Dapaah all sung the burger’s praises after they gave it a try.

McDonald’s haven’t launched a chicken burger on their menu permanently since the grilled chicken burger all the way back in 2007, so it’s a truly momentous day for chicken lovers everywhere.

The launch comes as shoppers are already flocking to stores to take part in the current run of McDonald’s Monopoly. You can read more about that here.

Available from Wednesday, October 19th, we have no the McCrispy will keep those crowds coming (and psst, you’re going to want to check out what else they’re adding to the new menu, too…).
