Popeyes launches new Double Stack Chicken Sandwich

There's nothing better than inventing a secret menu hack when you go out to grab a burger.

McDonald's Filet o Fish can turn into a British pub classic with a few simple tweaks, and an In-N-Out can be improved with infinite piles of pickles.

But now Popeyes have gone in on the action, turning one customer hack into an actual burger that people can order IRL.

Yup, the chain is adding a burger called the Double Stack to the UK menu, allowing customers to upgrade their standard Chicken Sandwich to a double.

Popeyes bosses say that around 500 people each week opt to order a Chicken Sandwich with an extra chicken breast so they can create this burger themselves.

So, now, they're giving people the option to skip the admin and order one fully prepared.

They'll be able to order a Classic Double Stack Sandwich, or a hotter Spicy Double Stack Sandwich, which comes with a generous dollop of spicy mayo.

You can get either right now from Popeyes restaurants across the UK, from drive-thrus, and via delivery, for £7.99.

"Team Popeyes is excited to announce the arrival of the new Double Stack Sandwich to our UK menu. Our customers love our chicken, and sometimes they want even more of it when ordering our legendary Chicken Sandwich," says Dave Hoskins, the chain's Head of Food.

"We’ve seen the hack, we’ve listened to our fans and we’re pleased to be making the Double Stack official – so more people can easily opt for some extra Shatter Crunch in their Sandwich."

Popeyes first landed in the UK in 2021, and has slowly but surely been taking the fast food scene here by storm.

With a breakfast hack that could rival the like of McDonald's, according to many punters, the chain is now making its main meal options even more impressive, too.

And there have been comparisons to KFC, too, with many saying the Louisiana chain's chicken is better...

It now has over 35 spots across the UK (you can find your local one, here).

A hit in the US, the brand even appeared at Beyonce and Jay Z's wedding, so we're pretty darn lucky to be getting it over here, now!
