Popeyes launches breakfast menu that people are saying is 'better than McDonald's'

Popeyes has officially launched a breakfast menu in the UK, and the items on it could rival your fave McDonald's brekky items.

The Louisiana Chicken chain only landed over here a few years ago, but now it's venturing into the breakfast game, and it's not messing, either.

With 38 sites across the country, including drive-thru spots and imminent plans to almost double the number of locations on the map, it looks like Popeyes could be coming for Maccie D's crown.

The breakfast features a Popeyes Big Cajun Roll (£4.99), made with a sausage patty, a Cajun a crispy hash brown, a free range egg and four rashers of smoked streaky bacon.

To finish it off theres oozy American cheese and Cajun ketchup, and it's stuffed in a Brioche bun.

You can also get your hands on a Bacon Roll meal deal, which will currently set you back £1.99, whilst it's on its current promotion.

Yup, the promotion allows customers to get a Bacon Roll, a hash brown and a drink for under two quid.

Other Popeyes breakfast items include a veggie-friendly Egg and Cheese Muffin (£3.50), with plant-based bacon and sausage alternatives (also £3.50).

There's also a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Muffin and the Sausage Egg and Cheese Muffin, which can also be doubled up for just 49p more.

Cajun ketchup can be swapped in to any order, and you can switch your hash brown for a Cajun hash brown at no extra cost.

Plus, all rolls and muffins on the menu can become a meal deal option as standard, meaning you can get a hash brown (traditional or cajun), as well as a soft drink, tea, or coffee for as little as £1 extra.

Don't fancy something sweet? You can also order an English Muffin with Hartley’s Strawberry Jam for £1.99.

Plus, Popeyes is offering a Signature Louisiana Biscuit in a couple of styles. There's a Cinnamon Sugar-dusted Biscuit (£1.75), or try their Original Biscuit and Nutella (£1.99), as well as one with Hartley’s Strawberry Jam (£1.99) or Honey (£1.50).

According to Popeyes, the biscuit "is a fluffy, flakey delicacy hailing from the Southern states of America, which some might liken to a British scone, but with a lighter and creamier consistency as a result of its buttermilk base". Delicious!

Phew, what a lot of breakfast options, ey?

Whilst team Twisted are still yet to try these bangers, reviews have started coming in, and people are saying the menu is indeed a worthy rival for the Golden Arches.

The full Popeyes menu dropped on February 20th, and is available via restaurants, drive-thrus and delivery (where applicable).
