When you're ordering a cold drink, do you tend to get ice or pass on it?
Well, an ice machine technician has just revealed the state of the machines he works on, and it is putting some people off ordering any.
The technician, who goes by 'Ice Machine 411' on YouTube, shared one video in which he took a look at an old ice machine, and it was....well, yikes.
"So ice or no ice? Let's see," he says as he walks towards the machine.

After opening it up and having a closer look, he adds: "Yeah, storage man looks alright but let's see where ice is.."
Sure enough, after lifting up the section "where the ice is made" the content creator discovers rust and mould.
A text overlay then explains that the mould is the "most common root cause of autoimmune issues, gut issues, skin issues, brain fog, fatigue and more". Yikes.
"That's not alright either, ice is made up there and you literally have, look at this," he said.
He then pulls the machine further apart to reveal more nastiness.
"I serviced ice machines for years and that is actually fairly clean compared to what I’ve seen," said one person in the comments.
"Restaurants, convenience stores are all the same they refuse to pay to have them serviced regularly. Bars are the absolute worst. NEVER get ice. Here is something better, just don’t."
Another agreed: "He's not lying, I word in restaurant business and it's like this regularly."
As a third chimed in: "Its been 20+ years since I worked in a couple restaurants and wholeheartedly agree.. don't get the ice."
"This video just ruined my day," someone else wrote.
This isn't the first time conversations around ice machines have surfaced, with a TikTok going viral in 2021, in which a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVACR) worker highlighted the conditions restaurants left their ice machines in.
“A lot of times people go to a restaurant and get sick, and they think it’s food poisoning. Let me tell you—there’s a chance it was their ice that got you sick,” @jantheman__ said in a video, in which he zoomed in on the dirty water in a machine. e.
“That water is what’s making you sick. You can’t tell me this water hasn’t given people the runs. It’s so, so dirty,” the TikToker added.
So, there you have it. Anyone else creeped out now?
