Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

People are just discovering a cheeky trick which turns your McDonald’s Happy Meal box into a plate.

Yep, Maccies just got a little bit fancier. Gone are the days kids have to eat their meal straight out of a box, because what you may not realise is there has been a hidden plate all along.

Watch this video to see for yourself:

Mind. Blown.

The hack has been under our noses for years, but it was recently discovered by Sophie Hinchcliff (aka, UK cleaning whizz Mrs Hinch), and it’s safe to say a lot of her followers were also none the wiser, too.

She showed that there was a little tab on the side of the Happy Meal box which removed the top half when pulled. What remains is a tray, or plate, which your food can sit on whilst you eat.

“I can promise you now, this has changed my life forever,” the influencer said on social media after coming across the trick.

“I was today years old when I realised you could do this, what have I been doing all my life? I have no idea”.

“I also DID NOT KNOW THIS!!,” said one person in the comments.

As another gushed: “It’s the best thing ever.”

There were some who had already been customising their Happy Meals for several years, though.

“Blows my mind that people don’t know about this,” said a third.

As a fourth wrote: “Oh my god how did you not know this. You know about pouring your chips into the top part of your burger box though yes?”

The genius never stops…

Happy Meals will never be the same again.

The news comes just a few months after McDonald’s caused a stir by introducing adult Happy Meals over in the US, for a limited time.

Offering customers their very own adult Happy Meal toy, as well as a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNugget box with fries, fruit and a drink, the new deal amassed a lot of fanfare – and it’s all too clear why.

We all love a bit of nostalgia, don’t we? And no matter how old we are, truth be told we all want a toy with our burger and chips.

Unfortunately, the Happy Meals were only available for a limited run, and never made it over here.

In the meantime, we’ll have to be satisfied with a kids meal if we want our Happy Meal fix. Still, at least we can feel more grown up by eating it on a plate.
