You can now get chocolate infused with Tenderstem broccoli

Do you love broccoli? No, but do you really love it?!

Then you might wanna give your loved one a nudge ahead of February 14th, because the folks at Tenderstem have found a way to incorporate it into your Valentine’s choccies. 

Yup, ‘Tender-Choc’ is now a thing, and it’s actually a lot nicer than it sounds. 

Plus, it means chocolate can contribute to your five a day (well, probably not but we’re rolling with it). 

The launch is a collaboration between chocolatiers Chococo’s and Tenderstem, and is limited edition for Valentine’s. 

A box contains nine rich, 72 percent dark chocolate choccies, filled with a green ganache made from real Tenderstem broccoli and cream, with notes of almonds. 

Reacting when the choccy was announced on Instagram, via food blog NewFoodsUK, people had a lot of feelings about the veg packed gift.

"My husband would leave me," said one in the comments.

Whilst another wrote: "Cadbury’s gone real quiet since this dropped."

"Using this to argue the healthy benefits of chocolate when I stuff my face on Valentine’s Day…," said a third.

David Samuels, brand director at Tenderstem, said: “This Valentine’s Day, we wanted to offer something truly special and unexpected for lovebirds, to allow Brits to reflect their unique and special feelings with a unique and special gift”.

“We are thrilled to have joined forces with Chococo for this truly one-off offering and inject some classic Tenderstem cheekiness into the annual day of romance.”

Claire Burnet, co-founder of Chococo, revealed that the partnership had been in the works for just under a year.

She commented: “Initially, we were surprised by the prospect of this partnership, but we were excited about the possibilities of using an ingredient as versatile as Tenderstem”.

The choccies are available as part of a competition. You just have to enter your details via this link and you could be in on a chance of bagging a free box.

They might sound a bit weird, but we’ve tried the choccies here at Twisted HQ, and they’re actually pretty delish, with the dark chocolate taking centre stage whilst the broccoli adds a freshness and an earthiness.
