Pepsi Chicken Wings

Love Pepsi? Love Wings? This is the perfect recipe for you! It's a delicious, sticky, complex sauce with the crispiest, most tender wings.

Ingredients

    Pepsi sauce:
  • 100gsoft brown sugar
  • 1 tbsppaprika
  • 1 tbsptomato puree
  • 1 litrePepsi
  • Wings:
  • 1.5 kg chicken wings
  • 3 litressunflower oil
  • a handfulcrispy onions
  • to serveranch

A chicken wing is a beautiful thing. Pepsi is a beautiful thing. Combine the two and you are in food heaven. This fried wing recipe will become your go to for all wings - it's so simple you'll never bother with the oven again. Why would you?

Method

  • In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients for the sauce and boil until you have a thick reduction. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil to 120°C and fry the wings for 20 minutes. They should be completely cooked through at this stage. Drain and set in the fridge for around an hour.
  • Crank up the oil to 200°C. Fry the wings in batches for 10 minutes, until brown and crispy. Toss them through the reheated Pepsi sauce.
  • Serve scattered with crispy onions and ranch.
