Peach Bourbon Sour

The sour is an old school, classic cocktail. We’ve switched it up here to utilise summer peaches, with a vanilla-peach syrup, bourbon, and lemon.

Ingredients

    Syrup:
  • 3peaches, diced
  • 100gsugar
  • 450mlwater
  • 1vanilla pod
  • 1lemon, zest
  • Cocktail:
  • 50mlbourbon
  • 25mlpeach syrup
  • 15mllemon juice
  • 1egg white
  • A few dashesbitters

The sweet peach syrup combined with Kentucky bourbon makes us feel like we're in the South, sipping this cocktail al fresco style. Don’t be scared of the egg white, it’s what makes the drink all creamy and frothy, plus the ice in the shaker makes it safe to drink raw

Method

  • Combine diced peaches, sugar, water, vanilla, and lemon zest in a saucepan. Cook over medium/low heat for 20 minutes or until the peaches start to break down.
  • Strain over cheesecloth, then let the syrup cool slightly.
  • Add all ingredients to a shaker. Shake vigorously. Serve in a short glass over ice, and garnish with a peach slice and cherry. Enjoy responsibly!
