Serves 4
100gunsalted butter, softened
100glight brown sugar
50ghoney
Salt
4 slicesbabka or challah
Vanilla ice cream
If you're like us, you've probably seen honey butter toast all over your for you page. We've switched it up slightly using chocolate babka and adding loads of vanilla ice cream, but this also works great with challah served straight up.
Preheat the oven to 180 C. Mix together the softened butter, sugar, and honey with a small pinch of salt.
Slice your babka or challah (or any brioche bread) into thick slices. If you're using brioche, slice off the crusts.
Spread the honey butter mixture all over the bread. Place on greaseproof paper, and place into the oven for 30 minutes, flipping half way.
Once it's golden and caramelised, top with 2 scoops of ice cream and another slice of toast.
