French Onion Butter

Sometimes we like to keep it simple and go back to basics, like with this French onion inspired compound butter

Serves 4

Ingredients

250gunsalted butter, softened

3onions, sliced

2 tbspchives, sliced

1 tbspthyme, chopped

Flaky salt

Sourdough, toasted

Enjoy this slathered on some toast with loads of cheese, or enjoy it with roast chicken, steak, mushrooms - whatever you like!

Method

Start by heating your pan to medium/low with a little splash of oil.

Add your sliced onions, and cook low and slow for around 30 minutes, until nicely caramelised. Allow to cool.

To a food processor, add softened butter, onions, chives, thyme, and salt. Pulse until everything's combined. 

Roll up into a log and refrigerate until ready to use.

Spread on toast, and enjoy!
