Spicy Tater Tots

We've elevated regular tater tots by adding some cheese in the middle and dousing them in chilli oil, but they still only use a handful of ingredients!


Start by grating your peeled potatoes over a tea towel. Once all the potatoes are grated, squeeze the tea towel over the sink to remove all excess water.

Transfer the dried potatoes to a bowl, then microwave for 1.5 mins. They should be quite sticky - if they're not, microwave for another 30 seconds.

Add the cornflour, salt, pepper, and chilli. Mix well, then get a small spoonful into your oiled hands. Flatten, place a piece of cheese in the middle, then shape into a tater tot. Repeat

Heat the oil to 180 C. Carefully add your tater tots - depending on the size of your pan you may need to do this in batches. Place immediately on a paper-towel lined tray

Plate up in a pile, and top with a generous amount of chilli oil. Finish with spring onions and extra black pepper, and dig in!
