Burger King releases Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries

You might remember us telling you about Burger King and Doritos’ collab recently, featuring the incredible launch of some Whopper flavoured crisps. 

But now we’re gaining even more from their union, as the burger chain just announced the arrival of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries.

Yup, they might sound too good to be true, and that’s why the folks over at BK actually tricked everyone at first, pretending they were an April Fool’s Day prank by launching them on April 1st.

“I get that this is probably an April Fool but you guys should really make this, it sounds amazing,” said one person after they dropped the news.

Whilst another wrote: “I know it’s an April fools, but this would be top tier.”

The world may have addressed the news with some healthy scepticism, but shortly afterwards the two brands revealed it was a double bluff, announcing that Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries would indeed be joining menus.

The Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries are made from 100 “juicy chicken breast, coated in a crispy layer of crushed Doritos for a satisfying crunch, and a tasty dusting of the iconic and bold Doritos Chilli Heatwave flavour.”

Sound pretty epic, right?!

Prices will vary from store to store, but a nine piece box will set you back around £7.49.

Katie Evans, a rep from Burger King UK, commented: “We’ve been teasing this epic product launch all week long and it’s clear our fans are no fools – they know a good thing when they see one.

“The launch of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries is the latest new product development in our collaboration with Doritos, and we’re very excited to bring it to Burger King restaurants nationwide.”

Coinciding with the launch, which kicks off today (April 3rd), you can also get free food at Burger King today. Aren’t they nice?

They’ve got a buy one, get one free deal that means you can pick up two six piece portions of the chicken fries for the price of one via the Burger King app and Just Eat just (although, you’d better be quick as this is for today only).

Whether you want to share your purchase or just tuck into twelve yourself, there’s no arguing it’s a pretty darn good deal.

The news comes after Doritos Flame Grilled Whopper flavoured crisps landed in the UK back in March, taking the beloved nacho cheese tortilla chips and adding a charred beef flavour that instantly made fans think of a Whopper.

Apparently the burger flavour is so spot on that you can even taste the pickles!

The product is currently available in supermarkets nationwide.
