Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

McDonald’s 2022 Christmas menu is almost upon us, and the fast-food giant has shared details of what we can expect this year.

Whilst previous festive menus have brought us delights like a Festive Crispy Chicken burger and a Festive Stack, this year they’re doing things a little different.

The Golden Arches have announced that they’re keeping the burgers classic this year, because (in their own words, not ours), “no-one really wants a gravy-soaked chicken burger, do they?”

What is on the McDonald’s 2022 Christmas menu? From cheese bites to a festive pie:

Whether you agree with the above statement or not, nobody can argue with the return of the Big Tasty – truly, a Christmas treat for all Maccies fans.

In case you need a reminder, the Big Tasty is made from an 100 percent beef patty, Emmental cheese, onions, juicy tomatoes and a uniquely smoky sauce (£5.29), and can be served with optional rashers of bacon (£5.89).

It joins the brand new McCrispy – which recently joined the McDonald’s menu as a permanent fixture – made with a chicken breast fillet fried in a crispy, crunchy coating, iceberg lettuce, black pepper mayo and a sesame topped bun.

Now, as delicious as they both sound, you might be wondering, ‘where are the festive flavours?’

But fear not, Maccies are putting all their Christmassy love into their accompaniments this year, announcing the return of *three* wintry favourites.

For one, we’ll be welcoming back the Festive Pie (£1.29), which is a classic hot crispy pie filled with mincemeat and custard. Think Maccies’ version of a mince pie.

Plus, the chain has finally listened to the nation’s desperate questioning about when those gooey cheese bites will be back at McDonald’s. A true Christmas miracle, the Cheese Melt Dippers are hitting menus once more as part of the Christmas menu – expect breaded camembert served with a tangy tomato dip. Yum.

You’ll be able to order these either as a single portion of four dippers (£2.29) or as a larger share-box (£5.99), but we won’t tell if you just eat the bigger portion yourself!

The McDonald’s Christmas menu is rounded off with a Celebrations McFlurry (£1.79), made with a soft dairy ice cream, Maltesers clusters, Galaxy chocolate drops, Caramel pieces, Mars Chewy pieces and Twix biscuits. Basically, all your favourite parts of the Celebrations box in one ice cream (bar the Bounty – justice for Bounty!).

The dessert is topped with a milk chocolate sauce to finish it off. What a festive delight.

What date does the McDonald’s 2022 Christmas menu start?

The McDonald’s Christmas menu lands in stores on Wednesday 23rd November, and it’s not around for long, so we’d advise filling your festive boots.

It’s only here for a very limited six-week run, to mark the holidays.

That means you’ll have until the start of January, when the Christmas menu ends, to eat as many Celebrations McFlurrys as your heart desires.

It comes after the release of the McDonald’s McCafe Christmas menu, which is already in stores.

This features a Caramel Waffle Latte (£2.09) and the Hot Chocolate Deluxe (£1.49), both of which are available for customers to order as part of the McDonald’s Christmas hot drinks selection.

The Caramel Waffle Latte replaces last year’s Choco Fudge Latte, which was a hit with fans.

But so far, customers seem equally excited about the new addition.

What items are leaving the McDonald’s menu?

The return of these festive favourites does mean that we have to say goodbye to some limited edition favourites.

Namely, the BBQ Bacon Stack, Nacho Cheese Wedges and Twirl McFlurry, which are being pulled from menus on Tuesday 22nd November.

We’re sure you’ll agree the replacements are more than worth it, though…
