It's not a newsflash that Salt Bae serves extortionate steaks by now – we all know it.

But the Turkish restaurateur, Nusret Gökçe, seems to be very proud of the price-tags at his restaurant in Abu Dabi chain of Nusr-Et.

In an old post which is once again becoming a talking point, Salt Bae's account shared one Middle Eastern table's receipt on Instagram, boasting about the hefty payout of almost £130,000.

The final bill came to 615065 AED, which is the same as £127,855.

The receipt is truly a spectacle to behold, featuring a £9.35 bottle of still water, two £20,000 bottles of wine and the Golden Istanbul stea, which comes slathered in gold leaf, at a hefty £728.

Dessert doesn't come cheap either. The customer appears to have ordered a golden baklava, which is also wrapped in gold leaf, and costs £81. French fries cost £8.24 just on their own, too.

"Quality never expensive #saltbae #saltlife #salt," the chef wrote as it shared the staggering bill.

But, as you'd expect, the reaction was pretty divisive.

"Despicably flaunting this when people are dying of starvation all over the world, what a cretin," said one person in the comments.

While another sarcastically wrote: "You’re right. Quality is never expensive. But this is expensive though".

"That's just stupid, excessive and complete BS," said someone else.

As a fourth noted they had personal experience at the restaurant.

"Been there, ate, not worth it at all. After the third time they over cooked my steak I was done," they chimed in.

Perhaps our favourite comment of the bunch, a fifth said: "I'd still rather have a Maccies.”

Salt Bae launched his first restaurant in 2010, and now his culinary empire is so popular that he even owns a Salt Bae burger chain and Cafe di Dolce patisserie, too.

There are now almost 30 Nusr-Et restaurants around the world, the majority of which are in Gökçe’s hometown of Turkey, whilst other outposts are in New York and Los Angeles.

There’s even an outpost in London now, (you can read more about the London restaurant and all the controversy surrounding it here).
