Ingredients

    For the Velvet Brownie:
  • 420gSugar
  • 4Large Eggs
  • 266gSalted Butter
  • 60gCocoa Powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tspSalt
  • 100gFlour
  • For the Cream Cheese Topping:
  • 280gCream Cheese
  • 100gSugar
  • 2Eggs
  • 1 TspVanilla Extract
  • Red Food Colouring
  • 1Large Marshmallow

Treat your guests (or yourself!) to this DEAD velvet brownie with a cream cheese topping! Add the melted marshmallow spiderwebs and this is the perfect halloween party pleaser.

Method

For the Brownie Layer
  • In a small bowl, add the butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  • Then add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and mix with a spatula until just combined.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup of the batter for the swirls then pour the remaining batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • For the Cream Cheese Layer
  • In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, sugar, egg, & vanilla. Blend until smooth.
  • Add in the red food coloring and stir to combine.
  • Gently spread the cream cheese layer on top of the brownie batter.
  • Drop tablespoons of the remaining brownie batter on top and gently swirl with a toothpick or skewer.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set. Remove and let cool completely before slicing.
  • For decoration (Optional):
  • Heat a large white marshmallow in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • Mix with a spoon to cool slightly.
  • Using both hands take a small blob of melted marshmallow and using your fingertips stretch out the the mallow to create spiderwebs.
  • Lay on top your brownie until the desired effect has been reached!
